Ecovillages can be seen as the collective dreams and passions of the Ecovillage’s residents, the land and the environment combined with the current social, environmental, spiritual, economic and governance condition of the ecovillage. Ecovillages are an interaction between the Ecovillage and the surrounding context being the local communities then the national and global contexts. In the end, Ecovillage communities would like to live happy, meaningful lives in a beautiful environment, comfortable housing, healthy food, water and air and with good people to “play” with around them.
Ecovillages are always evolving and changing. Often they are sitting with deep questions like:

- How can we achieve our personal goals, deepen the experience of living in community and contribute to the greater world?
- How can we live together more effectively, efficiently and harmoniously?
- How do we look after the environment, ourselves, the people around us and our financial status?
- How do we make good decisions, resolve conflict, come together with a vision and alignment and plan?
At Wild Community we use best practice processes and models to help communities answer these questions to deepening their personal and collective experiences, improve decision making and community outcomes. We use the “Dimensions of Sustainability” Model that was developed by the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN) to holistically look at an ecovillage through the five dimensions of: Environment, Economy, Social, Culture and the Whole System.

- Sustainability and Resilience Assessment – A participatory process to assess where your Ecovillage is at based on GEN’s dimensions of sustainability and our custom assessment tool.
- Sustainability and Resilience System Design – A deep analysis and planning process focused on your Ecovillage’s sustainability and resilience providing effective short and long-term plans with clear aims, key goals and strategies, backed by practical implementation plans
- Growth Enquiry – What’s next for us? How do we evolve and grow the ecovillage? Facilitated series of workshops, training and assessments to assist Ecovillages in identifying where they are at and where they may want to go.
- Strategic Planning – participatory and cooperative process, giving you effective short and long-term plans with clear aims, key goals and strategies, backed by practical implementation plans
- Environmental Planning and Design – integrated land-use, agriculture, food forestry, resource management, settlement, regeneration, conservation and recreation planning and design.
- Facilitation and Mediation – support for planning and design, decision-making and other situations that require independent facilitation, mediation and management.
- Education and Training – professional training in sustainability including management tools, processes and systems. We present workshops and work with organisations and communities to establish and refine strategic and operational planning, decision-making and reporting to establish a culture of sustainability.
